Has anybody worked with retic burm crosses?
I haven't worked with this personally, however i know you need to breed a retic male to a female burm and it may take a few tries.

why do you say that you need a female burm and a male retic? I have tried to breed a male burm with my thai yellow head. and contrary to popular belief she had no interest in hurting him at all which is the common belief.next yr I hope to get lucky with a clutch from a pairing like this.
i've bred my male retic to two female burms this year and hes hit them both and they both are gravid ..my first female will be laying eggs in about 30 days..

I believe they are called borneo bateaters. From what I have read they are possible, but difficult to get fertile eggs. I woudl google borneo bateaters and see what you get!
The reason I say A male retic and female burm is because most females will not have an interest in the male burm and its just easier with a male retic and female burm.
By the way They are called borneo bateaters.

I'll let you know in about 60 days. I have eggs in the incubator now and can see blood vessels in some (oh please, oh please hatch).
i'm working on the hybrid cross now. i'm taking my albino male burm. to my het albino female tiger retic . it don't matter which way you go male burm female retic or male retic to female burm . the only down falls to the hybrid cross is that right now there is only the bateater the jungle retic and the jungle burm that comes out of the cross . but the jungles burm and retic are beautiful snakes. and the other down fall is the fertil of the bateaters so you cross the bateater back to a burm or retic then back to a bateater to get the fertil rate back up.
i hope this helps a little
good luck if you do the cross

There are two folks you need to talk to regrding this type of cross. One has been mentioned and that is High End Herps the other is (drum roll please) ...................... NERD.
I believe NERD reptiles was the first to successfully create the Bateater cross. Regardless of the species ratio you use the chances of getting infertile clutches /eggs is high. From what I know of a Bateater to bateater breeding has never been successful in producing offspring.
Talk with the folks at NERD and /or HEH. They can give you a bunch of info I'm sure.
Personally I think they are totally gorgeous snakes.

Christine,
Just wanted to add to your post. It was actually Albert Killian back in 1983 who was responsible for producing the first burmese X retic hybrids here in the U.S. Additionally, it was not an intentional breeding, and was the result of a union between a female burmese and a male retic. Back then they were called Burtics.
