I keep 1.1 Rhamphiophis rostratus. I've had them for about two years and they work perfectly. I hope they will breed this year. They are very docile snakes and have never striked at me. Very aggressive feeders that is best of beeing fed alone to avoid accidents. Don't think there has been any major research in the venom of Rhamphiophis, it sertainly is not powerfull enough to kill an adult healthy human but i can imagine that if you let one chew on you for a while you won't bee feeleing very good after that.
Here's a few pictures of mine.

Here's a few shots of my male at the vet after an infected venomgland.

Thanks alot for the info and the pic, cool shot!
Docile? I thought they were very flightly. I'm looking to pick some up. Do you hibernate those to breed or just slight cooling like boas and breed them in the winter?

Does anyone have experience housing/breeding Rufous Beaked snakes? Is they're much Canabilism in Beaked's?? I'm just wondering out of curiosity.

If you really want a list of what I keep just ask.
I have kept this species for a number of years, even have successfully bred it! the venom is total insignificant to humans, even if it did chew on your finger for 10 minutes it still would not have any effect on you! this species is totally inoffesive and rarely attempts to bite! they may be a bit flighty when you first pick them up but settle down quickly and will allow you to hold them.
Its actually a really awsome snake and totally underated
