Dull Scale?

derek54 Jan 26, 2007 09:21 PM

Well, I just got my new BRB about a week ago, and noticed that there was a dull scale on the top of his head near the nose. It just looks like a normal scale, without the shine. Ive seen many BPs with this same thing, but just wondering if anyone knows anything about it.

It looks alot more serious from this angle, but it never looks this bad when your handling him, just when I take a picture( i think its the flash)

Derek,
..It is very likely that the last time the snake was opaque before shedding it scraped the skin off that scale a little too early. If that is the case it will clear up with the next shed or two. Very pretty snake.

I just got a Guyana that has 2 scales like that, i was told by the guy that it was just from a bad shed (it had only had like 1-2 sheds and was shipped from Guyana not to long ago.)
