I'm originally from the Beautiful.Honolulu,Hawaii.There are no snakes there and they have a zero tolerance about owning or keeping any.We have a lot of native birds indiginous to the Hawaiian Islands and a snake population would wipe that out.

I am now living in a city that Eats it's young, and if you survive...You grow up big and strong so that you can exploit anyone and everyone you meet.

Where? Los Angeles of course.

Actually I crawled out from under a large rock one day many years ago. Some people have asked me to crawl right back under that rock. Quite a few people actually. Turns out my head is made of the exact same material as that rock and I can't figure out how to get back under there, so I'm staying out. I guess since I'm out here. Too stay. It's nice to have pretty things to look at now. It wasn't so nice on the bottom side of the rock.

...went to White Station H.S., Rhodes College for undergrad and The University of Memphis State University (Locsmith will probably get that one) for grad school.
About 3 years ago, I moved to Paradise, more commonly known and Florida AND I'M NEVER LEAVING!
Where are you from, Locsmith?
Southhaven, Olive Branch, West Memphis, Cordova, Germantown, Dyersburg?
I think that covers all directions...
Ever been to Vet Pets, Ruby Begonia's or Amazing Reptiles and Aquatics in Bartlett?

voodoomagik Jan 27, 2007 09:40 AM

"...more commonly known AS Florida..."

locsmith Jan 27, 2007 05:37 PM

born and raised in bartlett. went to bartlett high school.i use to run Amazon Pets in ralegh.all the pet stores you mention are all closed now do to super pets and petco moving into town.

I think I remember you being a locksmith, too...
Is that right?

locsmith Jan 28, 2007 08:35 AM

real big guy.

locsmith Jan 28, 2007 08:39 AM

voodoomagik Jan 28, 2007 09:26 AM

Yep, that's you all right!
Hey, bud!
You'd probably remember me if you saw me, but you may not know my name. I don't have any pics, but let me give this a shot. Remember right when Dale Turner and Steve McNary opened Amazing Reptiles and Aquatics?
I was the guy that ran the reptiles at the start. There was tall, skinny Chris (not me) who's now the Assistant Curator at the Memphis Zoo and then there was me. I had long hair that I usually wore in a braid at work…wait a minute, here’s a pic of me now with my girlfriend, Susan…
I know Big Girl's gone and I'm really sorry about that. You brought her in when she wasn't feeling so great.
What are you keeping these days?
Are you still doing burms or just keeping boas?
Good to hear from you, man!
Aaron

locsmith Jan 28, 2007 10:45 AM

So what are you up to theses days ? what do you got runnin around?

voodoomagik Jan 28, 2007 04:48 PM

Hey, man!
That really sucks about your collection. That would've killed me, too. I'm really glad to see you getting back on the horse though.
I've been pretty good, had some bad times and hit some rough spots since I've seen you, but things are really coming together lately. I'm living in Palm Bay, FL and am teaching Spanish at a community college and really love that.
I started focusing on boas only a while back because I had always been in love with them. I bred Colombian BCI for the first time in 98 in Dallas. When I left Memphis for the second time in 03, I was breeding them and dumeril's boas.
I had a rough experience back in 04, but started my recent collection in early 05. I have about 5 pairs I'm getting ready to put together this fall. I hoping to breed
1. a pair of nicaraguans,
2. a pair of hypos,
3. a Boo line DH ghost and an anery female,
4. an arabesque het albino and a hypo and
5. an albino and a DH Sunglow.
I'm starting slow and raising them all from young snakes or babies. I buy each one planning to keep it as long as it lives. Most were acquired as babies or yearlings and the oldest were 2 when I got them. I'm hoping they'll all be breedable within the next 3 years or so.
All told, I have
2.2 Nicaraguans
2.2 Hog Islands
2.2 Peruvian BCC
2.4 Surinam BCC
1. hypo 50% Suri
2.4 Guyana BCC
1. hypo 50% guyana
1.3 hypo Colombians
1. DH ghost
.2 anery Colombians
1.1 Albino Colombians
.1 het albino
.1 DH Sunglow
1. Arabesque het albino
I've been working extra jobs and just working really hard in general to put this collection together.
They're all really sweet and a lot of fun. Walking into that room is so cool!
Good luck with that female boa. Are you breeding any burms this year?
Here are a few pics. Some are old, but the colors and patterns still hold true.
Here's Clyde our arabesque het albino, Bonnie his future hopeful girlfriend. Just a normal hypo, but she's such a cool and sweet snake and Violet an 05 female guyana.
Aaron

voodoomagik Jan 28, 2007 04:52 PM

Denny

voodoomagik Jan 27, 2007 12:28 PM

Hey, Denny!
Man, I'd be really surprised if I ever got tired of it.
People say they miss the seasons.
I don't miss them a BIT!
If it drops below 70, I'm mad.
I guess I was destined to hang out with snakes!
I'm over on the other side in Palm Bay by the way.
That way, I can get my tropical weather without being too far removed from the redneck influence to which I’ve become accustomed.

Colts are goin DOWN!!!!!!

dmac Jan 27, 2007 06:03 PM

There will be some rediculous calls in favor of the Colts. Just ask Mike Holmgren. The polls want the Colts to win-Peyton Manning drama, ect. The NFL ain't "fixed," but they try! Remember that "crawling" touchdown by Rothlisberger last year? What a joke. BTW I'm an Eagle fan. Next year.
