Enclosure question of Giant Hognose.

a_chen_tw Jan 27, 2007 02:53 AM

I am now considering to keep 1 pair Malagasy Giant Hognose (L.madagascarensis). I know they can get to quite big , even some keepers told me they possibily get to about 6 feets. However , I think MGH will getting much smaller in captive , I can't make sure . The only ( or the best , the most convenient) enclosure for me to offer to the MHG is a plastic tub (67cm x 45cm x 27cm ) and place in the rack . I can't sure if it's suitable to keep MGH in . If this species requests more larger enclosure , I think I will forget it .

I just waht to know what do you think about the enclosure question of MGH .

thanks.

I know someone with a MGH that is close to 9 ft. Unfortunately, you now have to get a venemous permit in FL to have them. Really stinks, because I wanted one.

It's no pronblem of permit to keeping MGH here . The only problem I care is just if I can offer my MGH a large enough enclosure for living in and even breeding .

thanks.

Maybe you should work on getting the permit, then. Do the 1000 hours have to be for that particular snake or genus, (I think so) or can they be wih _any_ venomous snakes? That would be easier.
