Vinal mesh snake enclosures

snakelady2 Jan 27, 2007 03:03 PM

Ok, so do these vinal mesh enclosures actually keep kingsnakes in? They're such good escape artists! I saw some really awesome enclosures at bigappleherps.com, but I want to make sure they can hold an adult kingsnake. Does anyone use these enclosures and what has been your experience with them? Thanks everyone! This is such a great place for information.

i have never seen mesh snake enclosures... but, i can't see how you can easily maintain the proper temps and humidity levels in a screen enclusure..

i am curious to hear what others who may have seen this product have to say???

mesh cage are not a good snake caging.
1. the snake can get mouth rot by rubbing its nose.
2. you can't keep proper heat/humidty.
3. mesh cage can be drafty.
you can look around for some nice plastic caging on the market.
1. animal plastics
2. barrs cages herpcages.com
3. visions
4. showcase cages
5. pro line cages from ed www.constrictorsnw.com
6. jungle habitats plastics

I think you may be referring to the Rept-arium type cages?? Those are mainly used for lizards I think and chameleons especially.
I would not use them for snakes myself, though beleive it or not I saw a guy with a 10' Burmese in one.
