Anacondas on Discovery Channel (Canada)

BackBeat Jan 28, 2007 02:22 AM

Just a heads up to my fellow Canucks of a 60 minute documentary/program on Anacondas airing on Discovery Channel at 1:00PM Eastern on Sunday January 28th.

Description from the Discovery Channel's webpage:
'Anacondas with Nigel Marven - Intrepid zoologist Nigel Marven goes in search of anacondas measuring more than nine metres in length.'

And the description from the Toronto Star's TV Program listings insert (Starweek):
'Anacondas With Nigel Marven - The zoologist searches South America for the world's most massive serpent.'

Enjoy the program, hosers!

I've seen the program, it's pretty well done.
I'll be watching Steve Nash and the Suns hand Lebron and the Cavs a beating instead of watching the 'condas again. lol

By far the most impressive scene of the entire show is right at the beginning. That tame green is enormous, and definitely one of the largest greens in captivity worldwide.

Sadly, the host had to go to a captive setting to observe an impressively-sized Green.

The program was well done and overall enjoyable.
Although, it's more than just a bit saddening/disheartening to realize that hunting and the continuing encroachment of humans on Green Anacondas' range has made the true 'giants' a natural wonder of ages past. boooooo
