I went into Petco tonight, and one of the employees told me they had some leopard geckos up for adoption. There's a sale going on right now, so the store got in like 30 babies, and they all fought with each other, and several dropped their tails. Petco can't sell leos with no tails, so, they put them up for adoption. I was thrilled, so I asked to see what they were, wondering if there'd be anything interesting, or all normals. The guy brought out 4 little leos in a 10 gallon aquarium. He said that they've all had problems shedding because of how dry it is in the back. No one even thought to offer them a moist hide! A couple of the poor little things are missing toes, and they've all had bad sheds, with skin stuck to them in various places, and mostly built up around their toes.
Being the soft-hearted sucker that I am, I felt bad for them. My first thought was: They're going to sit in this 10 gal for another month, and by the time they get adopted out, they're not even going to have feet left, let alone the few missing toes they have now!
So I brought home four leopard geckos. Asides from the dropped tails, and missing toes, they all seem healthy. Three are really plump, and active. The smallest one hides a lot, and it's not as plump as the others, but I think this is because the skin is built up so bad on its feet. They had the geckos on just plain glass in the bottom of the tank, with a sprinkle of sand. When I put the little (guy?) in a rubbermaid to take pics, he just scrabbled around, unable to get any traction, before he finally just laid down in place.

A friend said I have three hypos, and one normal. Another friend said maybe jungle, because the normal doesn't have bands. Sound about right?
