Glass tank too big for my blood?

ratstar Jan 28, 2007 02:08 PM

I was just reading over in the cage/habitat forum and it kind of got me wondering, is my tank too big for my blood?

I have a 30x12x12
Snake is roughly 20 inches

She hides, and roams the tank fairly regularly, but not too much on the colder end. I upped the temp on both ends about 5 and then she only hung out on the colder end, so I put it back.

Tank hold humidty rather well now with a plexi top. Seems to be holding heat better too.

I assume that it is a 20 gal. long? I think that is just fine for a blood that size. It is what mine started in and they did just fine. Just make sure they have a good hide and they will be fine. Good luck!

I've got my blood in the same size tank as you do, and she seems to be doing just fine. About the same size snake as yours, too.

i also started mine out in the same size tank with no problem. plastic is easier to deal with but if you already have the aquarium then dont worry about it, he/she should be just fine
