As every experienced snake keeper knows, using a set of feeding tongs is usually a pretty good idea. I've always used the more "care-free" method of feeding by introducing the prey with my hand while "reading" the snakes movements, putting the nose of the prey right at the snakes face. Although it's an extremely rare occurrence for me to get "zapped", I got tagged a good one by this adult Honduran. As you can see, he jumped up and missed, while just catching the rat's leg and my finger, before constricting my hand!!!LOL.......What IS REALLY NEAT, is the fact that I got a photo of the exact moment he let go!!!!. The rat fell off his bottom tooth a fraction of a second after snapping the photo!!!LOL.........anyway, I don't recommend feeding snakes out of your hand, as little accidents like this can happen!!LOL..........oh,..............and yes, it hurt!!!LOL.................................................Doug
