Just another update...

Good news!

It appears that the isolation, the warm water soaks and the little dab of veggie oil did the track. Edwina appears to have passed whatever it was that was blocking her up and causing her to freak out so ridiculously (all the while scaring the living daylights out of me) - - - she's back to her normal self (though she's always been a little strange), and she's eating on her own, she's much more active, and doesn't appear bloated at all. I waited a few days to make sure she was good, and put her back in her home, where she's clearly much more comfortable. I wanted to thank all of ya'll for your help, I couldn't have done it without her. And she also appears to be much happier back in the big house with her "brothers" (flatmates, roommates, whatever - - - ), and they're much happier too. You know they wouldn't eat the entire time she was gone? And now that she's back, they're scarfing everything I put in there. Even the earthworms! (and they never eat earthworms...not that I blame them, I wouldn't want to eat earthworms). Thanks a lot ya'll, I appreciate your help a whole lot.

looks like that biology degree came in handy, after all.

I know you are relieved! I am certainly glad it all worked out.
