Red Banded Frog and Reed frogs

Griffdog Aug 10, 2003 04:37 PM

I am trying to find information on the Red Banded Frog, I think it might go by a nickname of Rock Crawler. I also have not found a lot of information on Reed frogs in captivity. If anyone has caresheet information ( housing requirements, feeding, longevity, ect...)on these frogs could you please pass it on. Thanks

I found a source that describes Red-banded Crevice Creeper, or Rubber Frog, (Phrynomerus bifasciatus) from Southeastern Africa. The source is Staniszewski, Marc, Amphibians in Captivity, TFH Publications, 1995. This is probably the same frog. If you can't find the source in a library or no one else comes up with anything, I'll quote some of the information and care instructions for you. Maybe you can find it on the Net under the scientific name and get a lot more information.

Sorry about a second post. I can only think of one thing at a time. The same source has information on the reed frogs, Hyperolius sp. The same thing applies-- if you can't find it, or someone who keeps them doesn't come up with something better, I'll quote what my source says for you.
