New problem with shipping Delta!!!!!!

rainbowsrus Jan 29, 2007 01:44 PM

Just a heads up, I just received a call from Mark Miller (locolizards.com), he's at the Kansas airport and Delta is refusing the package because it has heat packs. The clerk is saying the heat packs are not allowed, that they are a hazardous substance.

First I've ever heard of this, I even dropped off an outgoing package this morning at Delta here in San Jose and they inspected the whole package including the heat packs. A couple of weeks back they almost denied a package because it only had one heat pack but allowed it since it was a direct flight with no connections/stops.

This could be disastrous for our hobby/industry. To have no viable shipping method during cold months

The shipping desk clerk is suffering from "cranial - rectal insertion".

Delta has NOT changed any policy regarding use of heat packs and they ARE still acceptable for use in Delta Dash shipments.
