I am pretty sure what I found in the water bowl yesterday was eggs from my Cope's Grey Tree Frogs! I am very excited. The male, Star, has been in the water bowl in the mornings and evenings for the last few weeks calling, which is how I know they are Cope's and not the other grey tree frogs. Lily had been watching him closely when he was calling and sitting in the water looking like he had hiccups. I guess while I was away, Lily laid eggs.
I took one out and looked at it under the stereoscope and it was gooey/gelatinous tannish-brown with a dark spot in the center. From a distance, it looked a cream color and I thought it was mold or something, even though the water was fresh.
Anyway, neither of them sat in the water yesterday. I am wondering if I should move them out. I wasn't sure what they would look like, but I found some old pictures posted here that looked like them, so it could be. I have another small container I could use and I read the posts about how much water and how to treat the water. I just don't know when to move them or if I should leave them alone and see what happens.
I am gone all day and I don't want something to happen to them. Most of the information already posted pertained to other types of tree frogs so if anyone knows what to do with grey tree frog eggs, I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you, Diane
