it depends...........
how old is it?
how much do you feed it?

if its young then yes it could be normal
if you feed it alot then yes it could be normal
if its older and being fed a normal diet then its not normal

Like farfrumugen stated in his post,...if it is a young snake that is being well fed, it is very typical, if it is an adult, they only shed this often in response to A, injury, or B, mite/tick infestation. I'm hoping you have a very young snake, and it's neither A, or B, but rather a rapid growth rate........ hope this helps,.....best regards,........................Doug

My cornsnake is hatchling - 6 months where i got her/him from said thats how old she/he was and i feed her/him one small pinky on tuesday and two small pinkys on friday the reson for two on friday is cause of the long time gap from friday to tuesday

adamjeffery Jan 30, 2007 01:10 PM

that is not a long gap but actually pretty close for feedings. i myself try to feed my hatchlings once a week but i normally feed them the appropriate amount. if its a bigger hatchling then i feed it 2-3 pinks if its super small i may only feed it a pinky head
adam

p.s. its seems to me that you are doing fine

Again,.......I agree with Adam,...it's only a four day span!, if they are the diameter(or slightly larger) than the largest portion of your snake, then this is more than adequate for the snake to be fed twice a week. Only if the prey is fairly small in comparison to the snake would I feed it two at a time. A corn of six months should be able to manage one small "fuzzy" in place of two small "pinkies" if you desire.......The main thing is, that unless you have a VERY strong need to get it big quick, it is much healthier for the snake if it is fed moderately, and not excessively......snakes are known to have more health problems, and can live shorter lives when fed to heavily.......Hope this helps,............................Doug

Yes. it is fairly normal if he has been well fed.
