white seeds

happy124 Jan 30, 2007 11:45 AM

My female dragon about 3 years old just pooped and in the feces there are several white little seed looking things in there. I never saw them before. What could they be? Her stool wasnt runny or anything but not firm either. To me the form is normal for her. She is acting normally and eats normally. She eats her greens with rasberries and wax worms and superworms. Thank you for your replies.

I've seen this before too. It may be some not completely digested part of her food. I have fecals done on my Dragons every 6 months. This is probably a good time for you to have one done. As it may be something more.

"Tapeworm proglottids are flat rice-shaped objects in a Bearded Dragon's stool" This quote was loosely taken from "The Bearded Dragon Manual" by The Herpetocultural Library. There is a picture in this book on page 126 but I was unable to find one online for you. Sorry.

it's probably a rasberry seed. since seeds are kinda hard to dogest, it might be a rasberry seed. and since you mentioned it's a little loose than normal (the poop), might be from eatting a few to many juicy friuts and berries. try cutting back some.
