Natural Light and Flash Lighting

tgcorley Jan 30, 2007 01:36 PM

Home today with an nasty cold. To distract myself from feeling completly miserable, I thought I'd play with the camera and at the same time help to help brighten up this forum during these short and drab January days. This and the following two posts contain some comparison shots of the same individual thayeri using a flash and then using natural light. Below are shots of my bright orange '06 male (from Vivid). The following two posts contain shots of my two '06 females: a pretty yellow/orange girl from a vendor at Daytona and a nicely colored MSP from Don Soderberg (SMR). I also have a yellow '06 female from Mike Bodner, but she is camera shy at this moment due to her being "in the blue".

I am excited at the prospect of breeding these wonderful critters even though they won't be proper breeding size and weight for several years. But crazy folks like we thayeri collectors seem to have more than our fair share of patience. It's probably no coincidence that I am also an avid gardener, fruit grower, and budding (no pun intended) amateur orchid grower.

Hope you enjoy the pictures . . .

Interesting to see that, thanks for sharing. Nice pics of three great looking snakes! I remember looking at that milksnake phase Soderberg female... still have the photos. 918-2? She's looking mighty healthy, must be a great feeder.

Yep, you are right about her identity -- she has those distinctive thin "eyebrows" on her head. And, she has NEVER turned down a meal, even during her shed cycles. She gets a small pinky every 4-5 days and has been shedding about every third or fourth week.
