rkreptiles Jan 30, 2007 05:30 PM

Here are some new pics of all three of my Sunburst Pastels including the male that is almost completely back to normal after his rat attack. These 3 pics were taken with different shutter settings. i am still trying to capture their true colors and beauty. Let me know what everyone thinks.

They look like high quality Graziani Pastels. What is their story? CH original from Africa?

Dave

They are from a Ian G line pastel that is 66% pos het ghost bred to a Abbarant Female (new morph). We hatched 1.3 Sunburst Pastel crosses, 3.0 New morph, and 1.0 normal Pastel. We are waiting on eggs now from the same pairing that produced these.

That sounds like a fun project. What do the new morphs look like?

I might just be tired or crazy but thats a funny question.
LOL,LMAO,LOL,LMAO

EmberBall Jan 30, 2007 11:43 PM

Why is that a funny question?

Rob, I liked the earlier pics better! The side of the snakes in your earlier pics made them look "special." I do not think the new pics look nearly as cool as the others. Nice snakes though man!

So I thought about it and re-read the thread and I decided I am a little tired and crazy.I thought the pics were the new morph.
I will get a whole 8 hours tonight.

EmberBall Jan 31, 2007 10:22 AM

I think the pics are of Pastels crossed with their new morph. I think!

Dave

Yes the animals pictured are crosses of a Pastel and the "new morph". We will find out more about this "new morph" in the next 2 years through breeding.

Those are absolutely gorgeous! I want one :D

Seriously though, those are quite simply the prettiest pastels I've ever seen. I can't even imagine what they look like in person!

Rob,
How about this 04 male?

Now THAT is an amazing Pastel! Is it from Robs new line, or what is the story. VERY nice.

I can't take credit for producing him. He is a Sunset pastel from Amir. Here is another crumy pic taken with a flash of the Suset next to a breeder Blonde Pastel. This guy is neon yellow and it just doesn't come through in pics.

Yeah, I think your pics are worse than mine! Even so, the difference in the two Pastels is obvious. I really like the look, more yellow and less orange/brown is a good thing.

One thing I noticed on my Pastel Sulfur, that I have not seen anywhere else, is NO distinct line separating the yellow and orange/brown. If you look at a Pastel, especially on one say at least 6 months old, you can see a distinct line running about half way down the body, running from head to tail, separating the yellow and brown. The Pastel Sulfur does not have that distinct line. It has about 85% yellow, with brown speckles, but no distinct line separating the brown coloring on the top, from the yellow on the bottom of sides. Kind of cool.

But, back to your snake, as a plain ole Pastel, not crossed into anything, might be the best looking Pastel I have ever seen.

Don't discount yourself, those pics come in clear enough for me to want one of those over any other pastel!

The thing doesn't have to look like Homer fresh out of the nuclear power plant.

Just imagine a killer bee crossed with that, or a cinny! That renews my respect for pastels!

The biggest problem i ever had with pastels is that most do not hold color well. Now it seems that is no longer a problem.

I'm very excited at what this line can do!

Very Nice. I love Amir's line of sunsets. I might pick one up and cross it into my new morph line next year and see if I can improve the crosses even more.
