I just noticed a red patch on my RES throat? is that supposed to be there or is it something to worry about? because i have never noticed it before and my turtle that just passed away had developed the same thing before it got sick?? HELP!

I not great with turtles, but I think you should take it to a vet. Both of my turtles don't have a red patch.
Take it to the vet. It could be a whole host of different things. No one can diagnose it over the internet. If there is no Vet near you find one. If you can’t or won’t find one, give it to someone who can. If you can’t afford a vet give it to someone who can and don’t get another one till you can afford a vet.
Can you post a picture of this and tell us about your set-up.
I am in agreement with the others that a vet appt is probably
in order. What did the vet say about the turtle that died?
