I don't know if you read my last post to your post about the sick jackson's....but I wondered if anyone had taken one of them for diagnosis or autopsy/

I haven't. In the letter the person said that
some state officials could get the bodies.
Hopefully they did and they'll do a necropsy.
I'll keep lookin in the newspaper to see if
there are any comments or response to the
letter.
This past Sunday another reader posted a
response in the newspaper. They suggested that
the Jacks up in Kula are dying simply because
they can't adapt to the conditions up there. I
didn't realize it but some areas in Kula drop
to the mid to high 50's in the late afternoon
and then drop in the 30's during the night.

I saw the article where the people said that they were dying because of the temperatures...and that could be if the temperatures are cold enough for long enough.

This article talks about Jackson's in Hawaii and mentions subfreezing temperatures and those above freezing..."Adults do well in daytime temperatures of 25-29 C (75-85 F), with nighttime temperatures considerably cooler (but still above freezing)"...and..."Jackson's chameleons probably are not able to endure the occasional subfreezing temperatures of the high elevations of Haleakala nor the high summer temperatures (>32 C) of some lower elevations."

I would still be interested if you hear any more about this.
