het red ? new blood

jnjreptiles Jan 31, 2007 11:37 AM

Another big imported male, looks to be a het red/ co-dom black back. Does anyone know if the different lines of het red/ co-dom black backs are compatible.

Thanks

Lets not sell the skin before killing the bear, please...

There is only one proven line of Het-Reds!

Never said it was a het red.
It looks to be a het red, and there are other lines of co-dom black backs other than het reds.
Both Mike Cole and Amir also have there line of co-dom black backs.

You were selling it on fauna as a het red.

As a w.c unproven morph.

I think it is a difficult jump to make, getting in a wc snake with a black back and calling it a morph, even with the "?" after it. IF you had produced black backs with the male, then calling it a genetic black back would be fine, but even at that point, calling it a Het Red Axanthic is more than just a little reach.

that is one...

I have seen many of Corey Woods pics and they are distinctly different than that. I think that is a black back and it seems to be missing the faded pattern centers on the sides...the color seems wrong too.

Corey would know for sure but I think he would agree that there is a distinct difference between that snake and his project.

most black backs are genetic to some extent..I have been making them for lots of years.......and haven't sold any as black backs......cause noone cares......I make white backs too (amels )........I gave away a huge male that looked just like the pic........

red axanthics are different.......

yet I don't want them either........LOL

It looks more like a black back but like others said youd have to prove it, het reds have a different pattern and much more white to thier sides, i dont see het red, but it could be called an un-proven black back for it does have a black back..
