Looks like a co-dom...

blowitch Jan 31, 2007 12:39 PM

How the heck would anyone know?

I'm not ripping on anyone in particular here, but to say in a post or an ad that a snake looks co-dominant is just ridiculous. There is no way in hell anyone could guess the genetics of a snake just by looking at it!

I could be wrong, but to think NERD or VPI or Ralph or anyone ever looked at the pastel or spider and thought, "you know what, I doubt that snake is recessive" is just plan dumb. Some genetic traits are way to deep to make a stab in the dark like that.

Seeing an ad or post such as this makes me chuckle and wonder who the hell would buy that snake. To me, it will and always will, look like a normal until it is proven otherwise.

I have read things from some of the big guys (Ralph being at the top of this list) that have said stuff like that. Not saying that it is right or logical but they do it.

Granted its all a guess anyway until you prove it out but even the big boys look at snakes and say, looks like it might be a dom.

Why do people guess??? ITS FUN WHEN YOURE RIGHT!

Haha,

Well, Gary, it might be fun when you're right, but when you're wrong....

I'd rather keep my mouth shut until I know one way or the other. These forums can be brutal =P
