How can you tell if a Female Veiled Chameleon is ready to mate.

chad98 Aug 10, 2003 07:30 PM

I have a male and female Veiled chameleons and they are about 2 years of age. I got them from a friend that couldnt care for them. He bred them before. How can you tell when the female is ready to mate? How do you know when its time to put the male in with the female? Thanks

see if there are blue spots on her body, it's the sign of maturity

usually when the female veiled chameleon is receptive, she will show yellow markings and robins egg blue spots on her body, with a similar blue stripe on her casque as well as some yellow markings. they'll be pretty bright and hard to miss.
