I've never had a chameleon get mites. I have never heard of a chameleon getting mites either....I can't say that they don't/can't ever get them though.

Mites can annoy the critter they are living on. Some are blood suckers, some live off of dead skin debris. Chams don't tend to get mites, but I suppose it could happen. You would see tiny black or red dots that move around when they are disturbed. They often cluster around the eyes and nostrils. I've never seen one with any.

I think snakes can have a real problem with mites (and beardies occasionally) so that may be the herp those products are geared to. I wouldn't worry about your cham. Any mites that happen to come in on a plant will not harm the cham nor should any that come in on feeders (if they are grain mites from the feeders food or bedding).

If you check out some snake forums you'll see many threads/posts on mite remedies.

If you collect a branch from outside, and add it too your chams home without proper cleaning of it (bleach/water mix-dry-repeat type thing) mites ould be intact and get on your cham once there on they spread like crazy-my friend had a green iguana it happend to very bad stuff.
