It all depends on the snake.. I have had some go 6 weeks. But it never fails that when they shed they always go. They are not very "regular"..

Snakes are very good a getting every bit of nutrition out of their food. Several weeks is normal for most of mine. Some may go sooner when young, but as they put on weight they seem to go longer in between as well.(size equals storage) 70% humidity should be fine. you may still need to soak or mist during the shed cycle, but you will know soon enough. Good luck!

I simply find that if I feed an appropriately sized meal each week, they will defecate once a week as well. Generally 4-5 days after eating.

Likely though, the defecation could be from the previous week or so's meal.

In short, feed them waht is required, and let them take care of the rest.

Same goes with my ball python, who's just shy of a year old. She defecates every week, almost like clockwork. That seems to trigger her to give me that "hunting" look again. She gets really excited and spastic at night when I start shutting off lights, and that's when I know she's ringing the dinner bell.

Kaa will get into a regular groove, once he/she gets settled in. You'll learn her rhythms. Keep track of feedings, defecation and sheds on a recipe card or calendar. It's a good husbandry habit to get into.

Have fun!
