Heard something crazy, info???

johnavilla Feb 02, 2007 03:35 PM

I was on another forum last night (www.bloodpythons.com) and someone said that rainbow boas aren't really boas, that they are more similar to colubrids. My understanding is that they have spurs, give birth to live young, are the closest relative of the anaconda outside of that group of boas, are susceptible to IBD and have every other quality that makes a boa a boa. Am I incorrect or was that guy talking crazy talk?

That is insane..

Rainbows are certainly in the Boidae family.. and not the Colubridae..
