baby softshell umbilical cord help!!!

Hi
I have just caught a baby florida softshell with its umbilical cord still on. do i cut it off or leave it. i need some good advise on what i should do.

reptiles comes from an egg ... umbilical cord ? is it the tail?

well some of the egg sac may still be attached to hatchlings.

definitely don't try to remove it.

Absolutely DO NOT try to remove it. It can be FATAL to the turtle!!! It will come off on it's own.
