beared dragon not eatting ./

mootish Feb 04, 2007 01:51 PM

two month's ago i bought a beared dragon from the northwestern berks reptile show .
her name is Scarlet
shes a Cawley Red x Hypo Red
8 1/2 inches when we got her decmember 2th 06
she's 11 inches

tank info
the tank she was in was
a 20 gallon with 2 other beared dragon's pretty much same size.
a heating bask at 100 degrees and a cool spot of 75 degrees

food ( we feed cricket's twice a day coated calucim/ vitamins every other day in the morning / with chopped up green's like collard mustard and maybe grapes ... some healthy beared dragon fruit's

We noticed she stopped eatting about 3 day's ago

we watched her not eat so now im either thinking stress from the other two dragon's or maybe parasites ..
( she drinks water on her own )
and she pooped this morning so shes not impacted ( the poo was like yellow ? and white only with some cut up greens in it )

we dont have the money to have her check up by are reptile doctor ( great doctor )

so we decided to move her to a extra 20 gallon by herself for now
with heating bask of 95 -100 degrees ... cool side 75 degrees ..
so im hoping shes just stressed out ? and hopfully she will eat tonight .

( im kinda scared becuase i just lost a beared dragon i had to put her down . )
any imput is nice to know ...

heres a picture of scarlet

Hi
raise the temp to 110-115
also i would recomend www.parazap.com .
its a herb you give 5 days in a row a month and it wil kill any worm /parasite/
you makie tea from it and give that to youre beardie .
if you wanna know how you make the tea mail me .

In 2 months she only grew 2 1/2". Don't panic but that's a pretty slow growth rate for a Dragon.

What are you using for UVB?

I'd get the basking site closer to 105 or so.

I think it was smart to separate her. There will always be a hierachy with dragons housed together. And she may the lowest on the ladder. I would try blocking her view of the other 2 if she can see them. Even being in visual contact can cause stress.

I feel at 11 inches she's pretty much outgrown a 20 gal. tank. It's good you're working on new ones.
