There are no U geyri subspecies. They are a species all to
themselves. The difference in the color phase is just that.
Some are yellow and some are orange phase. Of course
both color phases tend to vary as to their brightness and
shades of orange or yellow. Males tend to be brighter
than the females and more often than not, can display
more darker/bolder facial, neck as well as ventral striping.
I have a nice yellow male in my breeding group who only
wants to court an orange female. I will let them breed (with
my blessing ... lol). Although I've never crossed them by color
phase before, I am anxious to see the difference in any of the
color in the offspring. I've heard this produces a nice
mixture so If I'm successful and they eventually produce
offspring, I will be happy to share my findings.
