Calcuim with d3 should be used to dust insects about 1 a week no more then that. Also PURE calcuim, there should have been a dish of that in your tank the 1rst day! So that needs to be in there now!

Instead, I would stick to a formulated blend, try something like T-Rex Leopard Gecko Dust for all uses. This gives you the exact balance your gecko needs and you don't have to worry about balancing or having multiple bottles of stuff sitting around. We've used it for a year now and have been quite happy with it, the only complaint we have is the shelf life, but then the other cricket dust didn't have a shelf life on it, so I guess I'd rather have a short one and know for sure it is still potent.

I was looking at the T-rex Leopard Gecko Dust. Now can it be placed in a dish & left in the cage like you would calcium or is it only to be used for dusting the pray items? I'm looking into switching to and/or useing it in conjunction with other vit/min products but want to know how it's used first and get the opinions/comparisons from those who have used it. Thanks.

The best thing to do is have both...

There needs to be a dish of PURE calcium without D3 in the cage at all times... D3 should be used only 2 times a month at most...

The leopard gecko dust is good to use every now and then but it is not needed...

You can over suppliment your reptile and Vit D3 can build up to toxic levels and eventually your leo can die as a result...

Leos do not as much D3 as other reptiles... They are nocturnal and process their calcium without as much synthetic D3...

I have used both Leopard gecko dust from t-rex and pure calcium. I have found that you can not leave the leopard gecko dust in the cage because it tends to get hard very fast, also i havent ever seen any of my leopards eat at it. After putting regular calcium dust in the cage agian I see them eat it almost every day. I always have calcium in the tank and dust with vitamins/ D3 once a week.
