Corn Snake VS Milk Snake

Terrible_one Feb 05, 2007 11:31 AM

Hey guys I already did some research and owned reptiles when I was a kid but I did have some more questions hopefully you guys can chime in. When I was little I had a ball python (handled it a lot and it didnt mind, but I dont really want another) Ive had a Lepoard Gecko that didnt like being handled and I became sick and had to sell it. Now I want a sanke again. Rather a Milk or a corn. Anyway enough with the background..heres my questioons

I really want a Milk becuase quite frankly I think they are beatiful. The bright yellow, black, red ones with the black heads are awsome looking! I know Corns come in all different colors and patterns is their a corn that looks like a milk?

I want to be able to have the snake out just chillen with me on my computer desk or bed. Cant bite and must be very friendly. Which would be better in that catogorey? Also which ones are smaller? I dont want anything to big.

I dont really want to get it at petco or anything..ill look around some mom and pop shops but im sure im not going to find one I really like...Who is a good breeder online thay can sell me a healthy, friendly corn or milk snake.

Thats it for now...any help is appreciated!

Well, I've had multiple of both, and I can chime in one some points. First of all, neither of these are going to chill with you while you do computer work. Trust me, I know, 'cause I try to let mine "chill" and they just want to crawl off, into the couch, under something, etc. They're not like a ball python in that sense. I have some black milks and also an Andean, and both are very calm and passive, no aggression ever. However, having said that, I don't think anything is more passive than my corns.

I think with regular handling milks and corns are very, very similar snakes in temperament, as well as care. So do lots of research, and buy a snake from a good breeder, many can be found on the classifieds here.
