Oh yes, alot of patience, alot of handling especially males. I have many that were origially wc's.

The problems with wc collareds is that many have parisites/ worms, and even the occasional mite/ chigger which are all taken care of with mecicine and care. But the heart breaking part is some refuse to eat, and would rather literally starve to death than eat and become acclimated to captivity.

This is called Failure To Thrive. I have had a few who I actually had to force feed for over 8 months, maybe a year before they got started up enough on their own.
My large guy I call KONG a beautiful aquaflame, was one like this, took about 8- 9 months before he ever grabbed an insect on his own. But I have now had KONG for about 4 years and he free roams and runs right over to me, I can pick up any of my origianl wc's if they are down on the floor, they are all pets now.

You have to have alot of time to work with them, and sometimes if you do not have that time or they just will not cooperate, they will die, and it's sad.
