Patience was never my strong-suit. After an exhaustive search, I found some at Glades Herps. They had three, and I bought two of them. The third one was missing a third of its tale, and I didn't buy it because of that, but also because I'd like to leave the door open for another color morph.

Glades has had these animals for a month, and they said that they are not wild caughts, but that they came from a zoo. Wierd! They said they didn't treat for parasites. They also told me that all three were sharing an enclosure and did not fight. Further, he was holding one in his hand during our phone conversation, so they have to be pretty calm.

Colors? Almost entirely gray and white with speckling.

I get them on Thursday. I just got a digital camera for work, so I'll be keeping you all posted.

I'm super happy. My kids are going to love this...

Hey there, did they say what zoo they came from? That sounds weird to me too that they'd have CB at a zoo, (or am I crazy guys?)

It's also really weird to me that they wouldn't have a checkup within the month they were at Glades. Sounds like they're havin a trip to the vet real soon!

Thanks. Kinda funny thing happened with the wife tonight. I started putting together the cage. She wasn't too happy to find out I spent the butter & egg money on some more lizards...said I was obsessing, etc. But when I came home, and modified my new used lucite terrarium until it sparkled, then started glueing in rocks, she started to get interested enough to dive in and help. She made a really great suggestion about putting a double decker basking platform, such that the lizards will have to jump up and down to get to the highest basking spot. She wants me to buy some more rocks tomorrow...and some pea gravel. Got her hooked now...

Bought a couple of small pots of some grass called ophopogon japonicus nana that I put in there...reminds me of a clump of tenacious grass that you'll see in the deserts and I'm figuring if my dog eats grass, how bad can it be? Gonna look it up though.

Can't wait until Thursday. I'll upload pix on Friday for sure.

Its really sad when you reply to yourself. Just thought it was worth posting that the Ophopogon Japonicus Nana is also known as Dwarf Mondo Grass, and I found a website where it was recommended for box turtle gardens. Can't testify that the source is correct, but it does look pretty cool growing in a desert vivarium.
