Changing moss

How often should you change the moss in a moist hide. I have a large cool whip container (has a snowman on it) filled with moss. My question is how often should you change the moss to avoid mold/fungal growth.

when you actually see mold.....

and if it is live or green yet dead sphagnum moss you can actually wash it......I run it through with hot water then dry it out........

green moss usually will mold up fairly fast....so I wash it ......after while it will be really brown and dead and without sugars it will stop molding..........yet turn to peat after awhile........and still usable.......

.......do not keep moist hides too moist........

Thanks for the advice. I'll make sure it's not to moist. It's been between -6F to 20F. The heat is on all the time and snakey won't come out of the moist hide.
