I've very curious about this. I never realized there was a market...then again, I never realized there was such a strong market to sell sand as a substrate either.

Yesterday there was an advertisement at the top of this page for specially formulated egg incubating media that you purchase in a bag. Probably a mix of vermiculite and sand...Someone finally seen a market for bagging this stuff and catering to the herp enthusiast.

Us old timers will soon be hearing from people about how dangerous our sand and vermiculate/perlite mix is for the eggs. LOL.

Nope LOL. That was taken at Gasparilla Island last year in Florida. I have too many pictures in my account now. I have no idea what they are (too lazy to name them)...just for fun I attach one to my posts just to see what comes up LOL.

PS...did you notice the gopher tortoise in the picture too? That picture was taken with my digital zoom maxed out. I could see the lizard, but had no idea the turtle was there until uploading them to my computer. Hilarious as that would have been the only tortoise I seen.
