Well, after blood work, fecals, and x-rays, The vet found nothing wrong with my tort. The ONLY possibility they can figure is that maybe he was just constipated?!?!
He had about 4 bowel movements while he was there (over the course of a day) and two of them were very VERY hard. And after all those bowel movements, x-rays still showed that his intestines were still pretty full....

I'm a person that's pretty intuned to my pets... there have been several times that I've taken one of them to the vet knowing that something was wrong...but the vet couldn't find anything wrong until a day or so later when whatever was wrong got worse.... so I figure things are either gonna take a turn for the worse or get better soon.

I'm still soaking my tort and keeping him warm....but he's still lethargic and is not eating.

Have you used a vet for your torts? I went to Dr. Diaz. She mentioned that she'd try to get Dr. Rossi (sp?) from Jacksonville to consult with her....or perhaps refer me there.

Things could still work out (pun intended).
For this very reason, we always have fresh water in our enclosure despite derogatory remarks from some other keepers. We have seen our sulcatas come over and drink a whole pie plate's worth of water on occasion. We also soak our Mazuri before offering it. Any that is not eaten in a relatively quick manner is removed and thrown away. It does not sit out there long enough for the ants to take over or mold to grow.
Grocery greens that we give our tortoises are washed off and offered wet so as to get plenty of moisture in them. The vast majority of their diet remains the grass on which they graze and that is clearly evident in their waste.
All of the other people that we associate with who we know keep tortoises use Dr. Rossi in Jacksonville. I can't begin to discuss prices for visits, etc with you as I just don't know. I just know that everybody that uses him (that we know) are happy with him.
