Blazing Blizzards

bimbo1700 Feb 06, 2007 01:48 PM

I want to run something by you guys. I always thought that blazing blizzards had red eyes and they were suppose to remain red, but I have some that eyes are normal. They are Tremper line and the breeder I got them from said that blazing blizzards eyes are red at birth then most change to golden or normal. Sound a bit odd, but I like the golden eyes so I was like whatever, but I was combing through threads about blazing blizzards and I always saw that the were suppose to have red eyes that's what makes them different from blizzards so I was wondering if I have blazing blizzards or not?

The thing that makes them blazing blizzards is the fact that they are albino blizzards... Have you seen any albinos with gold or normal colored eyes??? Can you post a picture of your blizzards???

Yep that's a Blazing Blizzard.

The thing about the albino eyes is that depending on which one we are talking about will decide how much red stays as an adult.

First we have Rainwaters that start off red, but will become more normal looking with age.

Then Trempers, that again will start off red, and turn to more of a darker red almost black and poss normal looking, especially if incubated at a lower temp.

Then we have the Bells, which stay red through adulthood. Now there has only ever been one Bell Blazing Blizzard to be produced, sadly it had some health issues and was put down. Anther has not been produced since, even with many people working on the project, myself included.

in this picture you can actually see the red tinting in the vein patterning and slit of the eye. Also the Blazings have an overall pink wash to them. I also have Blizzards het albino and you can definately tell them apart.
