Ackies Ackies Ackies. all the way there and back. check out our site, the caresheets and FAQ, for more info.

also consider budget when getting a monitor. babies eat every day, and caging is not "off the shelf". monitor keeping is NOT inexpensive, and the initial purchase price is the LEAST of your worries. if the price of a $200 monitor is not for you, then i would say monitors in general are not yet for you. think hard and do your research, and make the most informed choice. best of luck!

I have funds, i meen i can afford a 200 dollar monitor but im not exactly looking toward paying that much...If I need to ill spend it, money isnt that much of an issue, ..
a juvenile or baby monitor would eat crickets right, would i have to feed an older one everyday or like once or twice a week?

we feed baby monitors 6 days a week, a combo of feeder insects and rodents. older animals have diets that vary according to different factors. they may eat twice a week, or five times a week.

Ackies are really worth the larger initial investment, and over a longer period, like a year or two, the difference in expense between an Ackie and a Sav is minimal, if not weighted in the Ackies favor.

Yes ackies are the best but if you cant afford $200 AFTER purchasing the cage, substrate, lights, fixtures, water dish, calcium and vitamin supplements, food stock, unless you want to go the petstore everyday, temp gun, temp strip, hide place, am I missing anything Robyn? Savannahs are a very good first monitor too, AFTER ACKIES, just start out with a 20 gallon and move up as he grows, dont get a monster cage right away, itll do more harm than good.
