I got my monitor about a month ago and when i got him the guy at the shop told me to feed him 2 f/t mice per week, hes about 30 inches do you think i should feed him more because I want to bulk him up and get him big.

If you want him to bulk up and get big, then you need to build a large enclosure for him! A 40 gallon breeder is way to small and its not worth wasting your money on a 150 gallon. Build a wooden enclosure.

Feed it one or two mice a day, if not more. Sorry but it looks like the pet shop gave you very bad advice.
