Show us your prettiest collareds!

loconorc Feb 06, 2007 09:45 PM

Ive seen plenty of collareds in the wild, primarily Big Bend, Grand Conyon, and the Davis Mountains, but Ive never seen the 'aquaflames' and all these morphs. I went to PHEve's site ( :O lol you say that a lot)and saw her MAGNFICENT lizards and i just wanna see some other peoples lizards. Eve, if you have any updated pics or just really pretty ones, you go ahead too! So post your best collareds here!

Thanks for the kind words, :0) The aquaflames are C. collaris but the phrase "aquaflame" was coined by Dr. Thomas Jones, just decribes their awesome color, and their locale is Oklahoma.
They are quite gorgeous, and seem diverse in themselves as far as the degrees of blues and greenish blues, yellows/oranges. I don't know that you would call any of these collareds you have seen Morph colors, most are just C. collaris from different locales, very diverse. Absolutely stunning some of them.

I do have a cross between a yellowhead and aquaflame, but this too is still C. collaris. I have one hybid C. bicinctores / C. vestigium youngster that hatched this past season.

Here are a few pretty guys, Mothers are allowed to brag LOL

I knew you'd be first LOL. Yours are great! I havent seen any collareds that vibrant in the wild. I only saw a gravid female and a few normal looking males. Those things are friggin FAST! Those are harder to catch than almost any other lizard in the West. By the way, does anyone have reticulated collareds? I saw them in a feild guide and they look pretty neat. If anyone has those can you show me? Keep that reptilian gold a-flowin'!! Great lizards Eve! :0

the lil typed face I do , you need to put a mouth on him :0) hehehheheee LOL

Anyway thanks again, Will Wells has some real colorful beauties on his site he has photographed, just awesome.

Johneee Eddington always tells of his sightings of magnificent aquaflames when traveling to Oklahoma. He has quite a looker named Chili, that boy sizzles. Just ask him for a pic

There are so many beuatiful collareds from our buddies on here, they just are not posting, they are all splendid creatures!

Yeah I was first, because I'm on here looking for bad guys, LOL

I only have one, so she's automatically my prettiest! The picture is several months old, but it shows her markings off well.

Yay! I thought this thread wasnt gonna get active! Eve, I though the little face was a surprised face in perentheses, not a big nose thing XD. :0) Chili is amazing! Great color! And that other one has some crazy markings! ^_^

Okay, I'll try this, even tho I don't know how the heck to picture in, ha!

Just click on the thumb for a larger image.
The first is a shot of Phoenix's butt, then my Jacksons Cami and Caleb when they were babies, then an example of one of our many invasive species located in a small colony in Homestead, FL mister red headed agama, Justin's old greyband Emma, former Children's Python Max, my old roommate's scorp, and a gorgeous wood stork flying over the Everglades- very endangered down here.
I have other pictures of more collareds somewhere, lol... but in the meantime, if you like my work please send $1 to Happy Dude... (jk, simpsons reference) But seriously, if anybody wants a Tiff Original (aero_tiff@graffiti.net) ....

Thanks for lookin guys!
