I remember reading an article in Reptile mag several years ago (late 90's) about the cuban wood snake. a picture was included in the articel . it was of a solid red/orange snake with a bright yellow tail. if any one can point me in the right direction towards being able to aquire one that would be great. if someone remembers the same article, and it was not of a cuban wood snake let me know please. thaks .

There are a variety of interesting species of Tropidophis in Cuba, including the Cuban Woodsnake (Tropidophis melanurus).

Of course, the US doesn't import animals from Cuba (due to a ridiculous 50 year old grudge held by a very small but vocal minority - oops,...steps off soapbox) so I don't know how many would be in the US.

Other species of Tropidophis used to show up on importers lists (from Haiti, etc.) but they were generally difficult to keep (lizard eaters) and many were quite drab.
