I was doing an experiment on species recognition and obviously no progeny could have been produced. Dumeril Boa male copulating with a female Albino Burmese Python

Wow...was there actually copulation or was he just spurring/courting her? That's an amazing photo.

Actual copulation, I have gotten that male dumeril to mate with 3 different species of python as an experiment P. m. bivitattus, sebae, and reticulatus. I should try a red tail boa to maybe get some viable off spring, no infertile eggs where ever laid in my opinion because the experiments did not take place during the pythons fertility periods. I may start dabbling in hybrids. I just got my coastal carpet to breed an african rock python just yesterday. Don't know what will become of it but they copulated for hours last night ( 9 foot coastal male / 10 foot female sebae )

Unbelieveable!! Having to use any tricks or is that particular Dumerils just a super breeder? You should definantly try a B.c.c. or imperator cross. I know there's been attempts but no viable offspring as far as I know....That Carpock project is very intriguing!! Keep us updated please.

With the Dumeril, yes there's a trick or two involved. The coastal however will copulate with all the larger pythons without any manipulation, he doesnt like ball pythons for some reason, he was all over my 9 foot macklots, but she wouldnt elevate her tail, he tried though and they may have mated without me seeing. Time will tell, if not there's always next year. I have a mature CA boa I could try next year with thye dumeril, she wasnt heavy enough to consider breeding this year.

A NINE foot macklots?! Can you shoot a photo of someone holding that monster please? I'd love to see one that large. I don't think I've ever seen one over 7. That thing must be super impressive.
