Beared dragon's are mostly the opposite of a iguana ...

iguana's mostly diffrences are iguanas all vegitarians eatting fruits veggies as there diet and needing tropical climate -

vis versa ..

beared dragons are desert and eat cricket's along with veggies ... ( greens like collard mustard mostly same as iguana )
beardies need uvb , basking lamp , .... mostly same as iguana except n misting ( and beared dragon's get baths too - and need calcuim and vitamins like the iguana -

Bearded Dragons are naturally tame and make very good pets. Here is another link to a good care sheet. As adults, they should be in at least a 4' x 2' enclosure. Height is not as important as floor space.

they make great pets and will quikly become your favorites lol .
adults need basking at 105 juvies alittle higher
more live foods as juvies, mostly veggies as adults
my cages are 3ft by 2 ft by2 ft with horazontal branches for climing
they will be mostly tame to begin with but warm up to you over time they seem smart enuff to tell me from other ppl
males you house alone females you can group if they get along this depends on the dragon they all have ther own personalities
full spectrum lighting is needed as well as vitamins and calcium
good luck and have fun

*grin* I'm pretty sure everyone here will agree that they are good pets. It *is* afterall, a bearded dragon forum!!
I've had many pets over the years- cats, frogs, ball python, anoles, hermit crabs, fish, hamsters, mice, etc. And as far as non-furry animals, I'd agree that beardeds are my favourite. BUT they do (should) require a fair amount of time, I've found. Especially in the taming dept-- I've adopted beardies who were rarely handled and I'm sure as hatchlings and juvies they were sweet but by the time I got them, they were almost -mean-. Of course, it could've been that particular dragon's temperment, but I've had others who I noticed were not nearly as tame if they weren't given the proper attention consistently. Which only makes sense- most dragons have a calm personality, but if they're only handled every now and again, they may not be used to it and might freak out every time it happens.
I've also found that the bigger the tank/cage, the more content my dragons seem to be. (as older juvies and adults, of course)
Several people posted some great resource sites and also, if you search the forums you'll find the answers to many of the questions you asked.
