Two different looks of anery. Honduran

DMong Feb 08, 2007 08:00 PM

First pic is of nice symmetrical, thin-banded type......next pic is of very wide-banded,aberrant individual.....the first photo is actually the sire of the aberrant when he was just a hatchling. He, along with a het. female, were purchased from "Barczyk" (B.H.B.), who acquired them from Dave Dougherty who was the owner of the "ORIGINAL" anerythristic male that was captured in Costa Rica, this was the first Honduran morph introduced into the hobby.........these were purchased back when an anery./het. pair were selling for $1,200 dollars!!!.......Doug

Very nice snakes, with a lot of history behind them.

I have always wondered why the anery's seem behind relative to other morphs. Tangerines with narrow, reduced black and wider banding in the middle of the triads are common. Albinos with similar patterns are growing more common. Yet the equivalent, a ghost or even an extreme ghost are relatively uncommon. I would think that since they have been around the longest they would be the most exploited morph. At the same time I appreciate that the anery’s have a very true Hondo pattern.

that's a beauty you have there!, nice and clean!......Well, yes, I agree with your point,...I think the "lack" of work involving the anery. specifically, is probably directly due to the efforts to make the "OTHER" morphs that would include them. "snow", "ghost","extreme ghost",ect.....as they are somewhat "plain" looking compared to the others,.....BUT!!if you were to come up with a real weirdo anery, like say an awesome "zig-zag" pattern,... rest assured, you would spark some new interests in the anery!!LOL.......best regards,.........Doug

I have always really like anerys.
I have some really cool ones and have produced some pretty killer ones.
This is a male that is ready to go this year.He is actually bi-colored now as a adult. He was from a ghost to dbl-het ghost and there were a couple v.p ghosts and hypos in the clutch.I will be breeding him to his v.p ghost sister this year.

here is a really nice male that I hope will go this year also. This is a ghost from Mike Falcon and is from the extreme clutches.
