bairdi - 277 and Bandera

Shaky Feb 09, 2007 05:39 PM

As I've stated before, bairdi are my all-time favorite snakes.

This one's my 277 female. She's about 2 years old, more or less, and a WC. She's still not showing her colors.

Here's a shot of the sole hold-back from the '05 clutch. She is from the Vivid line, but I held her back for the lack of color. She's bright silver in good light.

Another baby, this one from '06, Vivid line. These guys show color pretty quickly in most cases. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to determine which ones will be nicest by taking progression shots, but I haven't found any clues so far.

Have you tried comparing bellies? Some hatchling baird's definitely have more color on the belly than others. I have never raised up any of the 277 babies I hatched when I had them but that's what I would try.

Yep, That is what I usually recommend babies on- the color of the belly - but I've not kept enough long enough to test the theory.
