Ionides behavior.

Hello All,

I have a three-month-old Blackthroat. He tail-whips. He's not afraid of me, and takes mice out of my hand. But he doesn't like to have my hand get too close, and resists being picked up. At least he does not bite.

Will this behavior contiue into adulthood?

Than you for your consideration,

Diver

Maybe try to be patient and let him come to you in his own terms instead of you just reaching in to grab him. Monitors seem very curious by nature, so when he is comfortable with you he may become more willing to interact and explore.

Then again, it may also continue until adulthood, as each animal is unique. You have a monitor and hes acting like a monitor.
