How many eggs?

Esther Feb 10, 2007 06:25 PM

We have 3 female leopard gex and one male at school. This past Monday I found 6 eggs in some moist substrate in a hide, which must have been laid over last weekend. A cricket was eating one egg, which was busted open.

I put the remaining eggs in moist perlite which I moistened according to online directions from Albey's Too Cool gecko site. I see that 2 eggs have mold on them, so I will remove those. The remaining ones (in a room which is in the low 80s in temperature) look OK so far.

(1) How long (if they don't get mold) will the eggs take to hatch
(2) Will the females lay more eggs?

Thanks for any info.

The females will lay more eggs...

If the eggs are not being properly incubated in thermostat controled incubator, your chances of hatching the eggs are slim and hatching a healthy hatching is even slimmer... Temp fluctuations can cause deformities... No room stays a constant temp... That is why incubators are so important when you breed leos...

But to answer your question, eggs will hatch between 45 and 55 days... The lower the temp the longer the incubation time is...
