Other males? I have three adult Ball pythons housed together. About a month ago I noticed some courtship behaviour and then I saw one of the individuals locked up with another. On a different day soon after, I saw a different one locked up as well.
Because they are all very similiar in color, I really wasn't sure which was male and which were females. I removed all three and probed them.
I have never probed Ball Pythons, but have probed countless other species. All three of these seem to probe out as males. What gives? I definately saw these snakes locked up after courtship.
Will males try to mate even if a female isn't present, if they've been conditioned for breeding? Or is it possible that somewhere down the road maybe one of these Balls had been probed and injured, making it look to be female? I just don't know if I should prepare for eggs or not.
Thanks for any suggestions! Angela
