breeding size?

sweetblood Feb 11, 2007 09:29 PM

do you think a male boa that weighs 150 grams will be big enough to breed for the 07-08 season? also do you think a female that is 3 1/2 lbs will be ready for the 07-08 season?

I personally feel that if you try to get a 3 1/2lb female to breeding size within a years time, then you are grossly over-feeding her. It's much much better to put some patience and time into your collection and enjoy them at the proper size that they're suppose to be.

I don't know wether he'll be ready. I don't even try then until they're at least over two years old, no matter how big they are. Thinner older males tend to breed better than young fat ones.

ok thanks i have just heard that males can breed surprisingly young so i was just wondering thats all and the female has been fed slowly she was a 05 animal so she is just now hitting her good growth spurt without over feeding but was just curious as to if she would be big enough to breed with normal feeding
