Desert Banded Gecko Babies!

reptileaaron Aug 11, 2003 02:40 AM

Just curious if anyone has experience with these cute little things. I just hatched out two today and they are neat looking. I got lucky. They were laid a week or so after I got the parents. I have read lots of care sheets, but was wondering if there is anything extra I should know? The more info the better. Thanks.

I had a couple that were about that size. only thing i could really say is they dont like being handled and they like to dig ALOT. i kept a little cap of water with them but it was filled with sand every morning so i misted a corner of the tank every morning, not them. i set them free around Phoenix desert area this year. they went from banded like yours to a spotted pattern and their tails got hudge like a leo, id never seen pics of any with tails that big. they are fun to watch. mine got almost 5 inches long. keep alot of safe things they can dig under to hide without collapsing on them. they hardly ever used hides and preferred hiding under or behind something. good luck
